S.S. Klondike

Klondike I Crest Decal
Inspired by the original S.S. Klondike I, this Yukon crest decal honours the first of the famous Klondike sternwheelers built in Whitehorse in 1929. Designed as a powerful shallow-draft cargo vessel, it was the first on the Yukon River able to carry over 272 tonnes (300 tons) without pushing a barge. After running aground and sinking in 1936 between Lake Laberge and the Teslin River, the Klondike I became part of Yukon legend. This historic crest design captures the bold spirit, engineering, and riverboat lore of the North.
